Lillian Newsom Johnson, 88, of Roanoke Rapids, died Tuesday, September 12, 2017.

Lillian, a native of Halifax County, was the daughter of the late John P. and Fannie Johnston Newsom. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, John P. Newsom, Jr., Lemuel Lee Newsom, Albert Newsom and Sterling Ray Newsom; her niece, Carol Ann Golden; and a nephew, Brad Newsom.

She was a member of Quankie Baptist Church.

Lillian is survived by her husband, Robert Brantley Johnson; her sons, Robert Dennis Johnson of Roanoke Rapids and Eric Kim Johnson of Columbus, MS; her nieces, Gail Sheffer, Ann Cabana and Susan Newsom; nephews, Wayne Newsom, Steve Newsom and Preston Newsom; special friends, Herman and Barbara Massey, and Carlton and Hazel Shaw.

Graveside Services will be held Friday, September 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Quankie Baptist Church with Dr. Lavelle Waters officiating.
